Metro’s Supersoft™ Weatherstrips are the best replacement sponge weatherseals on the market today. They will provide many years of good looks and sealing quality while keeping the authentic appearance and detail of your car. Please follow the easy instructions below.
- PREPARATION: Carefully remove the old seals from your car, removing all old pieces of rubber from the retainer channel.
- ADHESIVE: Apply a small amount of Black Weatherstrip Adhesive (available at your local automotive parts store) to the back side of the bottom molded end. Use sparingly!
- INSTALLATION OF BOTTOM END: Starting at the bottom, insert and install molded end, inserting new clips into holes.
- COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION: After bottom end is installed and all pins are in place, apply a small amount of a water-based lubricant such as soapy water to both the retainer channel and the back side of the seal. This will aid installation. Carefully pry flange into retainer channel.
- ADJUSTMENTS: Exact final length can be adjusted by pushing and compressing the rubber so that a tight seal is formed. This is best accomplished if step 4 was followed.
- CUSTOM FIT: Your new seal is made from E.P.D.M. sponge and will custom-adjust slightly in profile, after a week, to provide excellent sealing qualities. This is achieved during compression of the window against the new seal. Remember, only the finest grade of materials go into Supersoft™ Weatherstrips.
