IMPORTANT! Please follow instructions carefully.
TOOLS NEEDED: Screwdriver, water based lubricant or soapy water, and sharp knife.
- CAUTION: Make sure your new seal will do the job before removing the old rubber and window frame.
- PREPARATION: Remove old rubber and any rust deposits before starting, otherwise new rubber may be difficult to install.
- SLOTS: Carefully cutting slots on the marked areas on the back of your Vent Window Rubber will remove any wrinkles in the sealing lip. Cuts should be 1/8" apart.
- LUBRICATION: Apply a lubricant to channel and rubber to ease installation. This is important to avoid damage to both the rubber and the frame.
- INSTALLATION: Install both pivot areas first, then carefully install the rest of the rubber in the middle section.
- ENDS: In some rare cases, ends may have to be cut to exact length or notched. This should be carefully marked out before cutting.
NOTE TO OUR CUSTOMERS: Vent windows seals are some of the most difficult parts to manufacture due to the many lips, notches, etc. Some details are unfeasible to manufacture. Your understanding is appreciated.
