What's the Difference Between Imported (IS-) and US-Made Parts?

Part numbers with the "IS-" prefix are imported products. Parts without this prefix are typically made in the USA by Metro Moulded Parts.

US-Made (Metro Moulded Parts):

• Manufactured at our facility in Minnesota
• Made with our proprietary rubber compounds
• Uses SUPERsoft® closed micro-cell technology
• Backed by our 30-year Platinum Warranty
• Generally higher quality and more consistent

Imported (IS- Prefix):

• Manufactured overseas
• May use different rubber compounds
• Typically lower price point
• Still functional, but may differ in feel and longevity

Which Should You Choose?

• For show-quality restorations: US-made is recommended
• For drivers or budget builds: Imported may be acceptable
• When in doubt: US-made parts offer the best quality and warranty protection

How to Identify:

Look at the part number:
- IS-HD 2009 = Imported
- HD 2009 = US-Made
